Come join our team!!!

- Medical Director/Assistant Medical Director
Our Medical Directors direct staff in effective pain management and symptom control. They oversee our Interdisciplinary
meetings and make recommendations regarding patient care. They are available for house calls, assessing
patients in John R. Williamson Hospice House and are on-call 24/7 to address changes in the condition
of patients.
- Nurses
In communication with the patient’s physician and other hospice team members, nurses coordinate a plan
of care for each patient and family. Nurses make regular in-home visits to assess the comfort of patients
and make every effort to ensure that pain is controlled and symptoms are managed. Nurses answer questions
the patient or family may have about what to expect throughout an illness and assist the families with
use of medical equipment and care of their loved one.
- Social Workers
Professionally trained and licensed social workers are an essential part of the hospice team. They offer
emotional support and assistance to patients and their families. Social workers fill many roles: counseling,
information regarding resources within the community, education on various topics (including living wills),
help with utility payments or funeral arrangements
- Chaplains
Chaplains are available at the request of patients to offer non-denominational spiritual care to the patient
and his or her family. Our chaplains support the care provided by the patient’s minister, but does not
take the place of that care. Chaplaincy services include hosting Life Touch Hospice Memorial Services,
capturing life stories of patients on audio CD, listening, and coordinating a Faith Community program.
- Certified Nursing Assistants
CNAs assist patients with their personal care needs. They help with bathing, shaving, mouth care, and light
housekeeping. The frequency of CNAs in home visits is based on the need that is indicated in each patient’s
plan of care.
- Volunteers
As a Medicare Condition of Participation, 5% of our direct patient care hours must be matched by volunteer
hours. Our trained volunteers provide companionship to patients in their homes, nursing homes, or John
R. Williamson Hospice House. Volunteers also help by preparing meals for patients and their families,
making bereavement contact, and assisting in the administrative office.
- Administrative Assistants
Our Administrative Assistants make sure everything works smoothly enabling clinical staff to focus on patient
care needs. They perform many duties including answering the phone, processing invoices for payment,
ordering patient care supplies, and maintaining medical records.
- Bereavement Counselors
An additional 13 months of bereavement follow-up is available from our Bereavement Counselors. Support
is offered through individual counseling, support groups, and specialized holiday sessions. Bereavement
is also offered to the community at-large free of charge.
